Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Covid-19 tally rose to 10,37,056 on Thursday as 524 more people tested positive for the infection. Two fatalities pushed the death toll to 8,298, a health official said.
Khurda district recorded the highest number of new cases at 254, accounting for almost 49 per cent of the fresh infections, followed by 66 in Cuttack.
Six districts did not register any new case. The fresh fatalities were recorded in Khurda and Sundargarh.
Odisha now has 4,856 active cases, while 10,23,849 people have recovered from the disease to date, including 451 on Wednesday. The state has so far tested over 2.13 crore samples for Covid-19, including 69,919 on Wednesday.
The cumulative Covid positivity rate in the state stood at 4.86 per cent. Odisha has fully vaccinated over 1.02 crore people to date.
