Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Covid-19 tally rose to 12,76,114 on Saturday as 1,539 more people tested positive for the infection, while the death toll mounted to 8,862 as 24 patients succumbed to the infection, a health bulletin said.
The state had logged 1,572 cases and 20 deaths on Friday.
Khurda district reported the highest number of 233 cases, while 342 children were among the total new patients in the state, reported PTI.
A 21-day-old boy in Bhadrak, and six patients each in Bhubaneswar and Balasore were among the fresh fatalities.
The state now has 13,285 active cases, while 2,483 patients have recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 12,53,914.
The daily positivity rate stood at 2.48 per cent as 62,096 samples were tested for Covid in the last 24 hours.
