Bhubaneswar: With 15 Covid deaths on Saturday, Odisha reported the highest in nearly five months, as daily new infections dropped to 4,842, a health department bulletin said.
The total fatalities rose to 8,575, and the total number of Covid positive cases climbed to 12,41,068, it added.
Khurdha district which also includes capital city Bhubaneswar, logged 1,253 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths.

On Friday, Odisha had logged 5,057 fresh cases and 10 deaths.
The state now has 58,533 active cases, with 11,73,907 patients having already recovered from the virus so far, including 10,511 since Friday, the health bulletin also said.
Odisha tested 63,871 samples for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours at a positivity rate of 7.58 per cent.
