Odisha Mining Expo 2024 unveils global mining innovations

Dignitaries on the inaugural day of Odisha Mining Expo in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar: The 2nd Odisha Mining & Infrastructure International Expo was inaugurated by Pratap Keshari Deb, minister of Energy, MSME Department, Government of Odisha, on Thursday.

The expo is organised by Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd and is set to run for four days until February 18 at Baramunda Ground, here, from 11 am to 8 pm.

Supported by the Odisha Assembly Of Small & Medium Enterprises (OASME), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other trade bodies, the expo aims to unveil cutting-edge advancements in mining-related products, services and supplies from around the world.

Expressing enthusiasm about the event, Swami Prem Anveshi Ji, managing director, Futurex Group, said, “The 2nd Odisha Mining & Infrastructure International Expo serves as a platform to showcase the immense potential of Odisha’s mining and infrastructure sectors. We are delighted to bring together industry leaders and experts to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment in this dynamic region.”

He added, the expo aligns with the Odisha Government’s commitment to fostering the growth of the mining industry through strategic policies and creating an enabling environment.

Odisha holds the top rank in the mining industry across the country, making the expo a significant event to showcase a diverse range of mining machinery, equipment, technology solutions, services and supplies from India and overseas.

The organisers said the expo plays a crucial role in contributing to the Indian economy by providing a platform for showcasing the latest advancements, technologies and opportunities in the mining and infrastructure sectors. It also facilitates networking among industry stakeholders, fostering collaborations and partnerships that can lead to increased investments.

Neighbouring states such as West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan are also participating in the expo, along with delegates from Japan, Europe and SAARC countries.

Satwik Swain, secretary general OASME, Pawan Gupta, director MSME, Swopnadutta Mohanty, chairperson The Indian Institute of Architects Odisha Chapter, Parthajeet Patnaik, director Falcon Group, Sofia Firdous, president CREDAI Bhubaneshwar, were also present.
