Odisha loses successive matches in U-19 Women’s Elite-E One-Day League

Odisha U-19 women’s team have lost their first two matches against Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh in the ongoing U-19 Women’s Elite-E One-Day League, being played at Jaipur.

The second game on Wednesday was a close one with Odisha losing by just one run, chasing Himachal Pradesh’s target of 154. Batting first, Anshika Thakur score d a 79-ball 40 to help Himachal put 153 for 8 on the board.

Odisha put up a fight with Subhra Nirjharini Swain scoring a valiant 75 not out as she ran out of partners with Odisha getting all out for 152 in 45.4 overs.

In the first game against Karnataka, the Odisha women lost by seven wickets after scoring 175 for 8 in 50 overs. Tanmayee Behera scored 66, GM Alkananda score a 69-ball 30. But Karnataka powere by Prerana GR’s 66 gunned down Odisha’s target in 42.5 overs.

Odisha will next play their third match on October 1 against Mizoram, in Jaipur.
