OCA U-16 inter-district cricket tournament: Cuttack-A register dominant win

Cuttack: Abhisek Kalia scored 44 and Saikrishna Behera picked four wickets as Cuttack-A thrashed Boudh by 173 runs in a first phase league game of the OCA U-16 inter-district cricket tournament being played at the Railway Stadium in Jatni on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, Cuttack-A scored 233/7 in 50 overs with Kalia scoring 44 off 47 balls and Subham Sasmal scoring 34 runs. For Boudh SK Afrol picked up two wickets. Despite the target being modest, Boudh’s run-chase turned out to be a disaster as they were bundled out for 60 in just 19.2 overs, with Behera finishing with figures of 4 for 28 and Satyansh Sharma taking three scalps.

In another match being played at Ravenshaw-I Ground in Cuttack on Wednesday, chasing Jharsuguda’s 188, Paradip were bowled out on 35. Batting first, Jharsuguda managed 188/6 in 50 overs with Tapan Gupta scoring a fifty. However, Paradip faltered badly in their run chase and were bowled out for 35 in 22.2 overs with Sumit Sahu taking a five-wicket haul.
