Cuttack: Led by R Srikanth (director, Cricket Operations & Coaching) and keeping in view Odisha Cricket Association’s (OCA) Vision@2024 program, a Coaches Refresher’s Program was conducted from Oct 8 to Oct 9.

OCA CEO, Subrat Kumar Behera addressed all the coaches present in this program and explained the importance of their role in nurturing new cricketing talents from the state.

The first group saw 22 participants from various affiliated units who attended the Refresher Program held at Barabati Stadium, here. This is a continuation of the Coaches Education program which started over a virtual platform with 96 participants amid the Covid-19 pandemic in August 2020.

Top 20 coaches from the list that attended this session last year were selected to be part of the Hybrid Level-1 Coaching Program conducted by NCA, BCCI.

The vision of Odisha Cricket Association to develop the infrastructure across its affiliated districts and in line with the same project – it would then recruit Qualified Coaches for imparting scientific coaching methodology across the grassroots levels.

The Refresher Program was meant to upgrade the existing skills of the coaches by engaging them in group activities and more practical sessions to help them understand the scientific methodology of coaching. This program would be very helpful to maintain uniform coaching methodology to be imparted across the affiliated units in nurturing and promoting aspiring cricketers who would bring laurels for the state and the country.
