OCA inter-district school cricket tournament: Sambalpur-A survive Jharsuguda scare, Cuttack-A and Puri dominate

Cuttack: The day three of the OCA inter-district school cricket tournament 2025–26 (Phase 3) delivered a mix of commanding victories and hard-fought contests as teams battled it out across multiple venues in the one-day preliminary league.

Sambalpur-A hold nerve against Jharsuguda

Sambalpur-A registered a 26-run win over Jharsuguda despite being bowled out for 134 in 37.4 overs. Yuvraj Singh top-scored with 51, while Kartik Pandey led the bowling charge with a superb 5 for 23. Jharsuguda’s chase was anchored by Shreans Padhi’s gritty 79, but they were dismissed for 108 in 38 overs.

Khordha cruise past Bargarh

Khordha secured a five-wicket victory after restricting Bargarh to 88 all out in 40.2 overs. Swayam Mohanty starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 15. Khordha chased down the modest target comfortably, reaching 89 for 5 in just 21.3 overs.

Dhenkanal clinch thriller against Gajapati

In a closely contested match, Dhenkanal edged past Gajapati by four wickets. Gajapati posted 175 for 7, riding on James Lima’s unbeaten 98 off 131 balls. Dhenkanal responded with a steady chase, led by Yashraj Pattanaik’s 69, reaching 176 for 6 in 42.5 overs.

Cuttack-A register massive win over Malkangiri

Cuttack-A delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day, crushing Malkangiri by 197 runs. After posting a formidable 270 all out, Cuttack-A’s bowlers bundled Malkangiri out for just 73. Anshuman Patanaik impressed with both bat and ball, scoring 37 off 18 and taking 4 for 32.

Rourkela defeat Deogarh by 53 runs

Rourkela continued their strong run with a 53-run victory over Deogarh. Batting first, Rourkela made 148, with Subhransu Behera scoring 42. Deogarh were bowled out for 95, as Arjun Manihira picked up 4 for 15.

Puri dominate KIIT

Puri recorded a thumping 178-run win over KIIT after scoring 217 all out in 32.5 overs. The bowlers then dismantled KIIT for just 39 in 14.2 overs. Agneerish Sahoo was the standout performer with an exceptional spell of 5 for 10.
