Cuttack: Cuttack-A stormed into the final of the OCA Inter District School Cricket Tournament 2025-26 after registering a commanding 93-run victory over Angul in semi final-2 at Barabati Stadium, here on Saturday (Jan 31). They will now take on Bhubaneswar-B in the title clash.
After winning the toss, Angul elected to field first, hoping to restrict Cuttack-A to a manageable total. However, Cuttack-A’s batters had other plans.
Cuttack-A post strong total
Batting first, Cuttack-A put up an imposing 255 for 4 in 50 overs. The innings was anchored by a superb unbeaten century from Sai Soumik Mohanty, who scored 101 off 124 balls.

Somyajeet Das provided solid support with a steady 63 off 101 deliveries, while Amrutansu Das added late momentum with a brisk 51 off just 36 balls, accelerating the scoring in the final overs.
For Angul, Omm Sri Sahoo bowled a disciplined spell, finishing with 2 for 14 in his 10 overs, including four maidens. Abhineet Kumar chipped in with 1 for 41 in his 8 overs.
Angul fall short in chase
Chasing 256 for victory, Angul were bowled out for 162 in 43.2 overs. Omm Sri S. Sahoo fought hard with 65 off 92 balls, while Akhil Pradhan contributed 37 from 89 deliveries. However, the rest of the batting line-up struggled to build meaningful partnerships against a tight Cuttack-A bowling attack.
Durgasish Behera led the charge with the ball, claiming 3 for 28 in his 10 overs. M. Jayasuriya provided strong support, taking 2 for 31 in his 10 overs. Sai Soumik Mohanty was named the stand-out performer for his brilliant knock.
