OCA inter-district school cricket tournament: Big wins for Cuttack-A, Puri and Rourkela
Cuttack: Cuttack-A, Puri and Rourkela registered emphatic victories in their respective matches on day seven of Phase-3 of the OCA Inter-District School Cricket Tournament 2025-26, played across different venues on Tuesday.
At the DRIEMS Cricket Ground, Cuttack-A crushed KIIT by a massive 383 runs. Batting first after KIIT opted to field, Cuttack-A piled up a mammoth 444 for 1 in 50 overs, powered by a sensational unbeaten 210 off 144 balls by Sai Soumik Mohanty. He was well supported by Gopal Murmu, who remained not out on 137 off 137 deliveries. In reply, KIIT were bowled out for 61 in 22.3 overs, with Anshuman Patanaik (4/16) and Sai Prasad Routray (3/17) leading the bowling attack. Sai Soumik Mohanty was named the stand-out performer.
At the Adashpur Ground, Puri defeated Mayurbhanj by eight wickets in Match No. 107. Mayurbhanj, after choosing to bat, were skittled out for 55 in 22.5 overs, with G Pradeep claiming an excellent 5 for 25 and Dibyadarshan picking up 3 for 14. Puri chased down the target comfortably, reaching 57 for 2 in just 6.3 overs, led by Rounak Mahapatra’s brisk 28 off 18 balls. G Pradeep was adjudged the stand-out performer.
At the Gotirout Patna Ground, Rourkela secured a 98-run win over Malkangiri. Rourkela posted 160 all out in 38.4 overs, with Rohit Bahar (37) and Sai Rudra Mahal (25) contributing useful runs. Malkangiri’s reply faltered as they were bowled out for 62 in 27.2 overs, despite Sahil Sethy scoring 18. The bowling honours went to Yuvraj Singh, who returned remarkable figures of 5 for 4 from 8.4 overs, earning him the stand-out performer award.
