Kishore Kumar Jena from Odisha finished fourth in the javelin event, with a throw of 73.90m at the 60th National Open Athletics Championship at Warangal in Telengana.
While Odisha’s Graceson Jeeva has qualified for the final in the 110m Hurdles event, which will take place on Friday at 4PM.
Debasis Patnaik (800m) and Swadhin Majhi (high jump) will also be in action on Friday at 3PM and 3:30PM, respectively.
In the javelin event, where Jena missed out on a medal narrowly – the gold medal was bagged by Haryana’s Sahil with a throw of 77.79m, while Manu DP (74.92m) of the Services won the silver and the bronze medal went to Rohit Yadav (74.28m) of Railway.
The National Open Athletics Championship, 2021 started on 15 September and end on the 19th. All the events from the championship are being telecast live on Athletics Federation of India’s YouTube channel.
