Mumbai: The Mumbai police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has seized 16 kg of drugs worth Rs 3.25 crore and arrested 12 peddlers in the past month. According to an official, arrests were made in Sahar village, Nallasopara, Santacruz, Kurla, Byculla and other areas.
The seized drugs, including MD, heroin, and ganja, were of different quantities. The police arrested individuals from various locations, including Sahar village, Nallasopara, Santacruz, South Mumbai, Kurla, Byculla and Andheri.
They seized MD drugs worth ₹2.24 crore from the possession of multiple individuals and ganja and heroin worth ₹1.02 crore from another person in Andheri.
In 2023, ANC registered 106 cases, arrested 229 drug peddlers and recovered drugs worth more than Rs 53.23 crore. This year, they have registered 17 cases, arrested 43 individuals, recovered 30.843 kg of drugs valued at Rs 23.59 crore, and seized Rs 4.05 lakh in cash.
