Mumbai police nab key suspect in Rs 1.91 crore jewellery robbery from Agripada

Mumbai: In a major breakthrough, Mumbai Police have arrested Vinod Lakhan Pal, the prime suspect behind the Rs 1.91 crore jewellery shop heist in Agripada on December 29. The arrest was made on Wednesday night in Niwadi district, Madhya Pradesh, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Pal and his accomplice had entered the jewellery shop under the guise of customers. Armed with a gun and a knife, they overpowered the shop owner and staff, tied them up, and assaulted them before fleeing with gold and silver items worth Rs 1.91 crore.

Acting swiftly, the Agripada police registered a case based on the jeweller’s complaint, while the crime branch initiated a parallel investigation. Leveraging CCTV footage and advanced technical intelligence, the crime branch successfully tracked Pal’s movements, culminating in his arrest.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the second accomplice and recover the stolen items. Further investigation is underway to uncover additional details about the robbery and the suspect’s criminal activities.
