Kolkata: A shocking incident unfolded in central Kolkata on Wednesday when a bus conductor allegedly pushed a passenger off a moving vehicle following a heated argument over fare payment on AJC Bose Road, police said.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Aziz Khan, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at SSKM Hospital. The conductor, Bishnu Sau, has been arrested on charges of attempted murder after a swift investigation by the Shakespeare Sarani Police.
According to officials, the altercation occurred near the AJC Bose Road–Rawdon Street crossing. “The dispute quickly escalated and in a fit of rage, the conductor pushed the passenger off the moving bus,” said a senior police officer.
CCTV footage from nearby cameras helped authorities trace the vehicle and confirm the sequence of events, leading to Sau’s arrest. Police said further investigation is underway to determine if any other staff members or passengers were involved.
