Kishore Kumar Jena has made Odisha proud by bagging gold medal in the 3rd National Open Javelin Throw Championships at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, held at New Delhi.
This is the first National title for Jena who achieved the feat with a throw of 74.26m on Sunday.
On Saturday, Jena had topped the list of 12 men’s finalists with an easy effort of 70.96m in the qualifying.
Earlier last month, he recorded his career-best throw of 76.41m in Bhubaneswar and had just missed a podium finish in the National Open in Warangal.
