Kalahandi Cup: Sambalpur thrash Rest of Odisha-C

Prashant Thakkar took a five-wicket haul as Sambalpur beat Rest of Odisha-C by five wickets in a 50-over match of Kalahandi Cup, played at MGM SOS Ground on Friday.

Opting to bat, Rest of Odisha-C were bowled out for 108 in 28 overs with Thakkar doing the damage and Sayed Zaki chipping in with three wickets.

Coming out for the run-chase, Aman Behera scored a 30-ball 47 as Sambalpur chased down the total in 19.2 overs.

In another match played at Ravenshaw Ground-1, Rest of Odisha-D beat Dhenkanal by 173 runs on Friday. Batting first, Rest Of Odisha-D scored 335 for 6 in 50 overs, with Binayak Sahoo slamming a hundred while Devendra S (60) and Somanath (51) scoring fifties.

In the run-chase, Dhenkanal were all out for 162 in 27.3 overs.
