Kalahandi Cup 2026, Day 3 round-up: Abhishek Yadav’s 158 powers ECORSA to 117-run win over Khordha

The Day 3 of the Kalahandi Cup 2026 (1st Phase Preliminary League) witnessed massive totals, clinical bowling spells and several one-sided contests across venues.

Sundargarh hammer Dhenkanal by 250 runs

At DRIEMS Ground, Sundargarh delivered a commanding performance to defeat Dhenkanal by 250 runs.

Batting first, Sundargarh piled up 382/8 in 50 overs. Swastik Samal led the charge with 92 off 74 balls, while Aditya Anand added a quick 59 off 48. Akash K. Puhan picked up 2 for 63 for Dhenkanal.

In reply, Dhenkanal were bowled out for 132 in 26.4 overs. Gurudutt Pattanaik scored 34, but Krishna Palai’s brilliant 5 for 20 sealed a huge win for Sundargarh.

Aakash Nayak’s 145 Guides Kendrapara to 105-run victory

At Centurion University Ground, Kendrapara posted 276/8 in 45 overs after opting to bat against Sambalpur-B. Aakash Nayak starred with a superb 145 off 103 balls. Dina Das claimed 4 for 37.

Chasing 277, Sambalpur-B were dismissed for 171 in 35.2 overs despite Amit Suna’s 68 off 80 balls. Abhijeet Rout picked up 5 for 55 as Kendrapara secured a 105-run win.

Abhishek Yadav’s 158 powers ECORSA

At Khordha Ground, ECORSA put up a massive 330 in 44.2 overs against Khordha. Abhishek K Yadav smashed a stunning 158 off 94 balls. Siddharth Sinha took 4 for 62.

Khordha managed 213/9 in 32.2 overs in reply, with Aryashree D Bhatta scoring 64 off 64 balls. Jayanta K Behera returned figures of 4 for 36 as ECORSA won by 117 runs.

Cuttack-B edge Sambalpur-A by 46 runs

At Ravenshaw Ground-2, Cuttack-B scored 234 in 49.1 overs, led by Swadhin K Patra’s 70 off 90 balls. Abhinab Nanda took 4 for 43.

Sambalpur-A were bowled out for 188 in 46.5 overs. Shresth Singh scored 42, while Biswajit Mohapatra (3/38) and Jamala B Mohapatra (2/22) guided Cuttack-B to a 46-run victory.

Balangir crush Sonepur by 153 runs

At Jatni Railway Ground, Balangir posted 224 in 44 overs, with Jogeswar Bag scoring 62 off 86 balls. Suman Maharana took 4 for 65.

Sonepur were bundled out for just 71 in 25.1 overs. Niteesh Kumar scored 23, but Satyajeet Singhdeo’s outstanding 5 for 17 handed Balangir a dominant 153-run win.

Bhubaneswar-A ease past Malkangiri

At Nimpur Ground, Malkangiri were bowled out for 123 in 31 overs. Shirshendu Sarkar made 31, while Ritesh Priyaranjan claimed 4 for 30 and Ansuman Bej 3 for 32.

Bhubaneswar-A chased down the target comfortably, reaching 124/2 in 23 overs. Anurag Sarangi scored 65 off 61 balls as they won by eight wickets.

Deogarh clinch 7-run thriller over Jajpur

At Ravenshaw Ground-1, Deogarh scored 145 in 40.4 overs, with Prabin Tirkey contributing 58 off 103 balls. Shaikh Ajharuddin (4/18) and Papu Ray (4/30) impressed with the ball.

Jajpur were bowled out for 138 in 31 overs despite Sayed Izharuddin’s 47 off 66 balls. Sohamraj Mahapatra’s 4 for 38 helped Deogarh seal a narrow seven-run win.

Boudh beat Koraput by 89 runs

At Adaspur Ground, Boudh posted 211 in 44.5 overs, with Saurabh Kanojia scoring 59 off 63 balls and Akshay Singh adding 58 off 74. Adithya Rout took 3 for 39.

In reply, Koraput were dismissed for 122 in 28 overs. Aditya Satapathy made 26, but Sobhandev Behera’s superb 6 for 39 ensured Boudh won by 89 runs.
