Nayagarh rode on a brilliant century from Biswajit Pradhan to secure a convincing 73-run victory over Nabarangpur in a match of the Kalahandi Cup 2026 (1st Phase Preliminary League) at Sunshine Ground.
After Nabarangpur won the toss and opted to field, Nayagarh posted a strong total of 281 all out in 48.1 overs. The foundation of the innings was laid by Biswajit Pradhan, who played a superb knock of 127 off 112 balls. He was well supported by Ankit Arunav, who contributed 58 off 64 deliveries.
For Nabarangpur, Deepak Tiwari was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 51.
Chasing 282 for victory, Nabarangpur fought hard but were eventually bowled out for 208 in 42 overs. Dilip Bisoi top-scored with 53 off 58 balls, but the rest of the batting line-up struggled to build lasting partnerships.
Rudra N Behera starred with the ball for Nayagarh, claiming 5 for 48, while Ashutosh Das provided excellent support with 4 for 31 to wrap up the innings.
