Cuttack: Uma Sahu picked a five-wicket haul as Rayagada beat Kalahandi by two wickets in a third phase league (Silver A, B) game of Kalahandi Cup on Saturday.

Opting to bat first at Barabati Stadium, Kalahandi were in a spot of bother from the start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Sahu doing the damage by returning figures of 5 for 21, and Kalahandi being bowled out for 146 in 42.2 overs.

The run-chase too had jitters but handy contributions from Kunal Verma (29) and Abdul M Khan (29) saw Rayagada over the finishing line in 33 overs with two wickets remaining.
