Cuttack: Abdul Khan and Uma Sahu picked five wickets each as Rayagada defended a low total of 109 to beat Sonepur by 49 runs in a third phase league (Silver A, B) game of Kalahandi Cup on Monday.

Put in to bat at Ravenshaw Ground-2, Rayagada were shot out for 109 in 30.3 overs with Sonepur’s Shubham Bisht returning figures of 6 for 16.

Sonepur’s run-chase was in tatters as Khan and Sahu ran through their lineup by taking five wickets each.

In another low-scoring match played at Barabati Stadium, Nuapada managed to defend their total of 151 and beat Kandhamal by 17 runs.
