Cuttack: Manoj Barik and Ashutosh Nayak took three wickets each as BBSR-B defended a low score of 116 to beat Keonjhar by one run in a 2nd phase league (Gold-B) game of Kalahandi Cup 2024.
Put in to bat at DRIEMS Stadium on Friday, BBSR-B were skittled out for only 152 in 36 overs, with Sushil Barik scoring a fifty. For Keonjhar, Ashutosh Ray and Pankaj Senapati took four and three wickets respectively.
The bowlers of BBSR-B put up a spirited show with Manoj and Ashutosh picking three wickets each as Keonjhar were bowled out for 151 in 36.4 overs, falling short of the victory target by one run.
In another match played at Barabati Stadium here, Puri’s Risikesh Das took a five-wicket haul to bundle Koraput out for 116 in 37.1 overs. Puri reached the target in 22.4 overs at the loss of four wickets. Rajesh Behera of Puri scored 58 not out.
