Odisha cricketer Subhranshu Senapati was bought by Chennai Super Kings on Sunday at his base price of Rs 20 lakh during the mega IPL players’ auction in Bengaluru.

Senapati had captained Odisha in the group stage of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and recently had been called by the CSK for trials.

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored a total of 275 runs from five matches which included couple of classy fifties and a match winning 116 against Andhra.

For the upcoming Ranji Trophy season, he too has been named the skipper of the Odisha team.

After Halhadar Das and Biplab Samantaray, Senapati becomes the third cricketer from Odisha to be part of a franchise in the Indian Premier League.
