Chennai: Virat Kohli became the sixth batter to score 12,000 runs in T20s, as he reached the milestone in the IPL 2024 opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, played at MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Friday.
The other batters in the club are Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales and David Warner.
Gayle took 345 innings to reach 12k runs while Kohli got to the milestone in 360 innings.
The IPL 2024 opener where RCB opted to bat first, Kohli achieved another milestone by scoring 1,000-plus runs against CSK. He fell on 21 to Mustafizur Rahman.
