The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will host the IPL 2024 final to be played on May 26. The venue had previously hosted two IPL finals in 2011 and 2012.
The second qualifier on May 24 will also be played in Chennai, while Ahmedabad will host the first qualifier and the eliminator on May 21 and May 22 respectively. Like always all the playoff games will be held in the evening.
The second part of the IPL 2024 schedule which was not announced because of the impending general elections, will now begin on April 8, with CSK hosting Kolkata Knight Riders.
On February 22, the IPL announced an initial schedule from March 22 to April 7, as they were waiting for the Election Commission of India to announce election dates. The elections will be now be held from April 19 to June 1.
Besides the usual stadiums, venues like Visakhapatnam, Dharamsala and Guwahati will host two matches each as second home grounds for Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals respectively. The last league game of the edition will be held in Guwahati on May 19, between Rajasthan and KKR.
