Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana and Mumbai Indians’ player Hrithik Shokeen have been fined 25% and 10% of the match fee respectively for breaching IPL code of conduct.
The incident happened in the ninth over of KKR innings after Shokeen dismissed Rana cheaply for 5 runs. As Rana was walking back, Shokeen said something and the KKR skipper turned around and also gave it back to the bowler.
MI’s stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Piyush Chawla intervened and calmed things down.
Rana and Shokeen play for Delhi in domestic cricket and reportedly both the players are not on talking terms.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav was fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate in the same match.
