The matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are fought fiercely but off the field there is also great camaraderie among the players.
IPL being a massive T20 league involving 10 teams and now in its 16th edition, provides a platform to former greats too to be involved with the league. Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, among others.
Ponting, coach of Delhi Capitals met Virat Kohli on the sidelines ahead of his team’s match against RCB on Saturday. During that brief meeting, there was Ponting’s son, Fletcher William Ponting.
In the video, posted by Delhi Capitals on its social media, Ponting’s son seems quite star-struck and could be seen being prodded by his father to have a chat with Kohli.
Junior Ponting has been travelling with the team and in another video uploaded on Capitals’ social media, he is seen taking throwdowns in the nets from his legendary father.
