After last edition’s poor show, Chennai Super Kings made a stunning comeback by claiming fourth IPL title with a convincing 27-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the final in Dubai on Friday.

Put in to bat, Chennai scored 192 for 3 with Faf du Plessis leading the charge with a 59-ball 86. Ruturaj Gaikwad made 32 as Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali chipped in with 31 and 37 not out respectively.

In the run-chase, Kolkata got off to a solid start with openers Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer putting up 91-run stand, before the collapse set in and they finally ended at 165 for 9. Skipper Eoin Morgan scored only four runs.

For Chennai, Shardul Thakur returned figures of 3 for 38, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed 2 for 37.
