Ranchi: India extended their home dominance by securing a hard-fought five-wicket win over England in the fourth Test, marking their 17th consecutive home series win. The series win by India has put a question mark on England’s Bazball approach in Test cricket.

Starting the day at 40 for 0 in pursuit of 192, skipper Rohit Sharma (55 off 81 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37 off 44 balls) set the stage with an 84-run partnership on the fourth day.

Despite some setbacks with the dismissals of Rohit, Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar and Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) sealed the victory with an unbeaten 72-run partnership and took India over the finishing line.
