Ind vs Eng: Akash Deep makes dream debut in Ranchi

Ranchi: Akash Deep picked three wickets on debut as India reduced England to 112 for 5 at lunch on day one of the fourth Test here on Friday.

India after being asked to bowl made an immediate impact in the first session with the Bengal pacer striking with the scalps of Ben Duckett (11), Ollie Pope (0) and Zak Crawley (42), leaving the visitors reeling at 57 for 3.

Akash Deep had Crawley at 4 early on. A length ball around off, nipped back in to send the off-stump cartwheeling, but it was a no-ball.

Jonny Bairstow tried to counterattack after the early wickets but perished to R Ashwin trapped lbw for a 35-ball 38. Ravindra Jadeja too joined the party by dismissing the England captain on 3.
