Kanpur: Panic struck Damador Nagar as numerous skulls and bones were unearthed from an empty plot on Wednesday, suggesting that of humans, police said.

Deputy commissioner of Police (South) Ravindra Kumar said that forensic experts and a field unit are set to investigate the unsettling find.

Forensic specialists, examining the Barra police station area, emphasised the need for a scientific bone study to determine gender, age and cause of death, Kumar added.

Additional DCP (South) Ankita Sharma asserted that the skulls and bones appeared to be relocated to the site, potentially from unidentified bodies. She confirmed a thorough probe into the matter.
