H&UD minister, Bhubaneswar mayor visit sewage treatment plant at Basuaghai

Bhubaneswar: The Housing and Urban Development Department Minister Pratap Jena along with Sulochana Das, Mayor of Bhubaneswar visited the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) & Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Basuaghai here on Wednesday.

They inspected the components of STP such as the inlet, screen chamber, aerated grit chamber, SBR, chlorination house, chlorination contact tank, sludge dewatering unit, also checked the quality of water at the point of CCT (Chlorination Tank).

The coverage areas of the sewage treatment plant is Bramheswarpatna, Gopaluni Pokhari, Kotitirtha Road, Laxmisagar, BJB Nagar, Bhimpur, Kunjapatna Sahi, Radhakrishna Nagar, Ratnakar Bagh, Pandav Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Megheswar Colony, Raja Rani Colony etc.

After the site visit they also discussed about the progress of household connections for wastewater and enquired about the process of the septage water treatment.
The chief executive officer and managing director of WATCO PK Swain welcomed the dignitaries.

Among others, Sarat Chandra Mishra. MD, WATCO, Subendu Kumar Sahoo, Deputy Commissioner, Sanitation, BMC, Arun Kumar Nayak, City Engineer, BMC, Bharat Chandra Dalai, General Manager, WATCO, Gautam Dash, executive engineer, BMC and other officials of WATCO and BMC were present during the visit.
