Cuttack: With the India vs South Africa T20 International at Barabati Stadium set for December 9, cricket fans in Odisha are now turning their attention to get hold of match tickets offline after the online sales on Monday saw 40,000 queuing up for just 2,000 tickets. The offline sale of tickets for the general public is scheduled to begin on December 5 at the stadium box office, giving local fans a fresh chance to secure seats for the high-profile fixture.

Online tickets went on sale on December 1 at 2 PM through District by Zomato, and the response was overwhelming, with more than 40,000 fans queuing up online to grab seats for the match. Around 2,000 tickets were made available across select stands, including the New Pavilion, Special Enclosure, AC Gallery Box and Galleries 2, 4 and 7. The OCA had introduced a double-authentication system at checkout to ensure secure booking. Spectators will now have to physically redeem their online tickets on 8 and 9 December at Cambridge School, as entry to the stadium will be permitted only with physical tickets.

Offline ticketing for OCA’s affiliated units will take place on 3 and 4 December, with SBI managing the sale at the OCA Conference Hall from 10 AM to 6 PM. These dates are exclusively reserved for affiliated bodies, ahead of the public sale window.

The general public can purchase tickets offline at the Barabati Stadium ticket counters starting December 5, between 9 AM and 6 PM. To avoid overcrowding and ensure smoother operations, OCA has restricted offline buyers to a maximum of two tickets per person, subject to producing a valid ID. All counters will remain under CCTV surveillance, with police supervision and additional private security to monitor crowd movement.

OCA has also set up holding areas, barricades, drinking water points and medical support near the ticket counters to manage the expected rush during the offline sale. These arrangements have been made in coordination with the Cuttack District Administration and Odisha Police to ensure a safe and organised ticket distribution process.
