East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run two special trains between Bhubaneswar and Rourkela – two cities that would be hosting the hockey World Cup matches – from Friday.
The decision was taken for the convenience of hockey fans who would like to commute between the two venues to watch the games. Apart from the two special trains, five regular trains will also ply on this route.
02834 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Special will leave from Bhubaneswar at 8.25 pm every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from January 14th-30.
In the return direction, 02833 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Special will leave from Rourkela at 11.25 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from January 15-31.
This train will have stoppages at Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda and Rajagangpur between Bhubaneswar-Rourkela from both the directions.
02836/02835 Puri-Rourkela-Puri Hockey Special will run daily from January 14-31. The train will leave Puri at 05.15 am and will reach Rourkela at 12.45 pm. In the return direction, this train will leave Rourkela at 01.30 pm and will reach Puri at 10.30 pm.
The train will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Naraj Marthapur, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda and Rajagangpur.
Apart from this, 02832/02831 Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar Special is also leaving from Bhubaneswar on every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and also leaving from Dhanbad on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays.
Similarly, Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express, Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Kalinga Utkal Express, Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express, Bhubaneswar-Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Inter City Express, Puri-Rourkela-Puri Express trains are running daily connecting Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
Apart from the above, services of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Bhubaneswar-Anand Vihar Express trains are also available between Bhubaneswar and Rourkela on weekly basis.
