MBBS and PG students receive degrees in a special ceremony held at SUM Hospital.

Bhubaneswar: Three batches of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, faculty of medicine of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SIA) here, who had completed their MBBS and Post-Graduate courses were presented their certificates at a special ceremony held recently.

MBBS students of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 batches received their degrees while those who pursued post-graduate courses in different subjects belonging to the 2018, 2019 and 2020 batches were presented their testimonials. Besides, certificates were also given to those who completed their post-graduate courses in super-specialty subjects.

SOA vice-chancellor Prof Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who attended the ceremony as the chief guest, also administered the oath to the graduates and
post-graduates. While urging them to serve humanity as doctors, he said they should also focus on research to bring in change in healthcare sector.

SOA pro-vice chancellor Prof Sitikantha Mishra, controller of examination Prof Manjula Das, dean of IMS and SUM Hospital Prof (Dr) Sanghamitra Mishra, additional dean Prof (Dr) Ajay Jena, medical superintendent Prof (Dr) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof Jyoti Ranjan Das, heads of
different departments and members of the academic council were present.
