Gurugram: In a disturbing incident in the Bhim Nagar area here, an elderly woman is facing charges of animal cruelty for reportedly attacking a puppy with acid, as well as assaulting stray cows with boiling water. The complaint was lodged by Suman Mishra, an animal rights activist associated with NGO Voiceless.
Suman Mishra, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, received distressing information on Tuesday at approximately 4 pm about the alleged abuse inflicted by Anisa, a Bhim Nagar resident. Mishra, with three decades of experience as an animal rights activist, stated in her complaint to the police that Anisa not only charred a puppy with acid but also targeted stray cows in the vicinity with boiling water.
The City Police Station promptly registered an FIR against Anisa under Section 428 (killing or maiming animal) of the IPC and Section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Act. Sub Inspector Bahiram, who is leading the investigation, affirmed, “We are investigating the matter, and action will be taken as per the law.”
