In response to the increasing demand from passengers across various routes, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the operation of special trains during the summer season. These special trains aim to meet the additional rush experienced during this time.
Here are the details of the special trains:
Puri-Udhna (Surat) Bi-weekly Summer Special Train: Operating between Puri and Udhna (Surat), this train will run twice a week from April 25th to June 27th, 2024.
Puri-New Delhi Weekly Summer Special Train: This weekly service between Puri and New Delhi will operate from April 30th to June 25th, 2024.
New Delhi-Puri Weekly Summer Special Train: Commenced on April 22nd, 2024, this service operates weekly between New Delhi and Puri.
Sambalpur-Erode Weekly Summer Special Train: Operating from Sambalpur to Erode on Wednesdays, this service runs from May 1st to June 26th, 2024.
Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru Summer Special Train: This train operates from Visakhapatnam to SMVT, Bengaluru, every Saturday from April 27th to June 29th, 2024.
Visakhapatnam-Chennai Egmore Summer Special Train: Operating between Visakhapatnam and Chennai Egmore, this service runs every Saturday from April 27th to June 29th, 2024.
Visakhapatnam-Hatia Summer Special Train: This service connects Visakhapatnam and Hatia, operating every Sunday from April 28th to June 30th, 2024.
Additionally, ECoR has announced the operation of 20 pairs of special trains originating from key railway stations such as Puri, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Brahmapur. These trains will serve various destinations across the country.
Passengers are advised to book tickets on these special trains to avoid rush in regular services and plan their journeys accordingly. ECoR has also ensured the availability of drinking water at railway stations and implemented crowd control measures to enhance passenger experience.
Furthermore, ECoR is operating 13 pairs of long-distance special trains between important destinations, including Secunderabad, Dibrugarh, Agartala, Chennai, Santragachhi, Nagercoil, Kochuvelli, Shalimar, Bengaluru, Kharagpur, Malda Town, Mysore, Muzaffarpur, New Tinsukia, and Howrah-Yesvantpur.
