To mark this occasion, a seminar on “Gender Equality Today for Sustainable Tomorrow” was organised where eminent personalities presented their views on the above subject.
Gracing the occasion, principal chief signal & telecom engineer S. Manga V. praised the outstanding women employees who brought laurels not only for Railways but also for the country.
She also said our women Loco Pilots, Assistant Loco Pilots, Guards, Trackmen including women employees from Signal & Telecom and Railway Protection Force (RPF) are working hard for the safety and security of passengers.
Addressing the women employees of East Coast Railway Dr. Mamata Dash from Astitwa (NGO), who has graced the occasion as chief speaker on the occasion said that Women are the pace of progress. Women empowerment leads nations to grow and civilisations to progress. She also praised the indomitable spirit of every woman and womanhood.
Joining as the Guest of Honour, Dr. Arundhati Senapati, senior consultant of Railway Central Hospital also spoke on the occasion and praised womanhood and dedication of women Railway employees for their outstanding services at the time of Covid-19 pandemic.
27 women employees were also felicitated for their outstanding performance, dedication to duty and meritorious service, who also worked hard during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Fun events and quiz were also organised to mark the occasion. Cultural events on Women Empowerment were also performed by the women employees of Railways.
Tushar Kanti Mandal, principal chief personnel officer of East Coast Railway co-ordinated the programme. International Women’s Day was also held at all the three Divisional Headquarters – Khurda Road, Waltair and Sambalpur.
