Bhubaneswar: The Department of Higher Education (DHE) will have a dedicated pension cell to maintain transparency in adherence to 5T governance of the state government, said Minister of Higher Education Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.
The minister reviewed various activities of the department where a decision was made to have a dedicated pension cell for the employees wherein they can receive their pension on the very day of retirement. All the pending pension cases to be cleared within a specific timeline, he directed.
He said that the state government is putting in all efforts to fill up the vacancies of teaching and non-teaching staff in colleges. Nayak urged the officers to create a database of all faculty members of government aided/GIA colleges for effective monitoring of vacancies.
Nayak also reviewed the status of RUSA and World Bank funding, students scholarships and others. A detailed discussion was made on further improvement in standard of higher education and development of educational institutions in the state.
Moreover, measures to achieve higher NAAC ranking and participation in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was also discussed.
