New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality witnessed a slight improvement on Wednesday morning but continued to remain in the “poor” category, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 273, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

On Tuesday, the city’s AQI stood at 294 at 4 pm, down marginally from 301 on Monday, which had placed it in the “very poor” category.

Despite the slight improvement, 11 out of 38 monitoring stations across Delhi still reported “very poor” air quality, with AQI levels above 300, according to the CPCB’s Sameer app.

As per CPCB standards, an AQI between 0–50 is “good”, 51–100 “satisfactory”, 101–200 “moderate”, 201–300 “poor”, 301–400 “very poor” and 401–500 “severe”.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Delhi’s minimum temperature settled at 18.2°C, about 2.1°C above normal. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 28°C, with the forecast indicating shallow fog in parts of the city on Wednesday morning.

The relative humidity was recorded at 89% at 8:30 am, the IMD added.
