NEW DELHI: The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 10.3 degrees Celsius on Monday, 3.5 degrees above the seasonal average. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), mainly clear skies are expected during the day, with smog or shallow fog likely to develop in the evening and night.
At 9 a.m., the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 178, categorised as ‘moderate.’ While 10 monitoring stations reported AQI in the ‘poor’ range, the rest remained in the ‘moderate’ zone, as per data. On Sunday at 4 p.m., the 24-hour AQI was recorded at 225, indicating ‘poor’ air quality.
Humidity levels were measured at 87% at 8:30 a.m., with the day’s maximum and minimum temperatures expected to settle at 18°C and 9°C, respectively. The IMD has forecast dense fog across most parts of the region and very dense fog in isolated areas during the morning hours.
