CSIR-IMMT’s InTEC hosts ‘IP for ALL’ workshop, incubates three startups
Bhubaneswar: CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) successfully organised a one-day skill development programme, “IP for ALL,” through its Innovative Technology Enabling Center (InTEC) on Wednesday.
The event, aimed at sensitising the participants about the essentials of patents, featured lectures, practical hands-on sessions and interactive discussions.
Attended by 400 participants, including students, faculty, researchers, scientists and industry professionals from various sectors in Odisha, the workshop emphasised the importance of intellectual property (IP) in today’s global scenario.

Distinguished speakers at the programme included Er HK Tripathy, Dr DS Rao, Er Jayanta Mallick, Dr SK Pradhan, and Dr T Pavan Kumar, who stressed the significance of integrating IP into regular activities for future generations.
Dr Ramanuj Narayan, director of CSIR-IMMT, commended the organising team’s efforts and encouraged potential contributions towards innovations and intellectual properties. Three new startups were incubated at InTEC, and participants expressed satisfaction with the training received.
InTEC, recognised by Startup Odisha, currently hosts 15 startups and has conducted 60 programmes on Innovation & IPR, sensitising over 130,000 enthusiasts. The success of the workshop has led to expressed interest from various organisations for the regular conduct of similar programmes.
CSIR-IMMT has filed about 20 new intellectual property rights (IPRs), including patents and designs in the past year.
