Bhubaneswar: The CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar marked International Women’s Day under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” Distinguished guests included chief guest Jagi Mangat Panda and guest of honour Dr Smita Mohanty, attended the event at Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Hall here on Wednesday.
Jagi Mangat Panda, MD of OTV, applauded the achievements of women in projects like Chandrayaan 3, emphasising the role of women power and intellect. She called for breaking stereotypes and recognising the contributions of “Rocket Women,” advocating for gender equality and daily celebration of Women’s Day.

Dr Smita Mohanty stressed the need to dismantle barriers hindering women in entrepreneurship. She highlighted shifting trends, with women breaking into traditionally male-dominated fields like bodybuilding and wrestling, fostering inclusivity and empowerment.
The event presided over by HK Tripathy and Dr MG Sujana, featured various programmes for students and staff.
