Cooch Behar Trophy 2025-26: Andhra tighten grip as Odisha collapse on Day 2

Anantapur: Andhra tightened their hold on the Cooch Behar Trophy (U19) clash against Odisha on Day 2 at the Rayalaseema Cricket Ground, finishing the day with a commanding overall lead of 204 runs.

Resuming from their strong overnight position, Andhra completed their first innings at 282 all out in 94.2 overs, built largely on a superb century by Lohith Lakshmi Narayana. The opener, who had scored 101 off 229 balls and striking 12 fours. He was well supported by Anv Lohith, who added a valuable 71 off 84 balls, accelerating the scoring with six boundaries and three sixes.

For Odisha, Raaz Yadav stood out with the ball, claiming 4 for 57, while Sambit K Beja provided effective support with 3 for 63.

Odisha’s reply, however, faltered as they were bowled out for 124 in 63.1 overs, conceding a significant first-innings deficit. Subhasis Mallick top-scored with a fighting 40 off 130 balls, while Panakala Mokshit contributed 35 off 60 deliveries. But consistent pressure from Andhra’s bowlers kept Odisha on the back foot.

Anv Lohith produced an impressive spell, taking 4 for 37 and Siddu Karthik Reddy chipped in with 2 for 47 to dismantle the Odisha lineup.

Andhra ended Day 2 at 46 for 2 in 15 overs, extending their overall lead to 204 runs. K Haneesh Veera Reddy remained unbeaten on 28 off 48 balls. For Odisha, Priyanshu Mohanty and Sambit K Beja picked up a wicket each.
