Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied by rains is likely to occur in coastal districts of Odisha and adjoining interior districts from Wednesday afternoon, according to the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA here.
The incursion of moisture from both the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea into Odisha, which was supported by day time heating, created the possibility of such weather, a CEC release said.
The interior districts likely to be affected included Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm was also expected in the western Odisha districts from February 26 as the existing weather system would merge with western disturbance and rains were likely to continue till the first week of March barring a couple of days between February 28 and March 1, the release said.
