Mumbai: Odisha were bowled out for 169 on Day 1 of their Col C K Nayudu Trophy (U-23) multi-day match against Mumbai at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, Kandivali.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Odisha had to work hard for their runs. OM T Munde was the top scorer with a patient 77 off 147 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six. He held the innings together at one end as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Dinesh K Majhi also chipped in with 43 from 117 balls, including six boundaries, providing some support. However, the rest of the batting line-up failed to convert starts, and Odisha were eventually dismissed for 169.
For Mumbai, Suryansh Shedge was impressive with the ball, picking up three wickets for 29 runs in 17 overs, including five maidens, maintaining tight control with an economy of 1.71. Himanshu Singh also claimed three wickets, conceding 38 runs in 20.4 overs with four maidens at an economy rate of 1.84.
At stumps on Day 1, Mumbai had the upper hand after restricting Odisha to a modest first-innings total.
