Bargarh: Bengal took firm control of their Col CK Nayudu Trophy U23 match against Odisha at Vikas Ground, here on Saturday, finishing day two with a 124-run lead.
Resuming after day one, Bengal were bowled out for 343 in their first innings. Ayush Kumar Singh was the standout performer with a brilliant 107 off 148 balls, hitting 15 fours. While, Anas provided solid support with 68 off 124 balls, striking 10 boundaries and a six.
For Odisha, Badal Biswal led the bowling effort with an impressive 6 for 93 in 36 overs. Saideep Mohapatra picked up 2 wickets for 50 runs in his 20 overs.
In reply, Odisha reached 219 for 4 by stumps on Day 2. Sujal K Singh scored a steady 65 off 87 balls, including 10 fours and a six. Shreyansh Bhardwaj added 49 off 107 deliveries, hitting six fours and a six, as Odisha tried to build partnerships and narrow the deficit.

For Bengal, Irshad Alam bowled a long spell of 23 overs, claiming 2 wickets for 61 runs with six maidens. Ravi Kumar supported him with 1 for 39 in 17 overs.
At the end of Day 2, Odisha still trail by 124 runs with six wickets in hand.
Earlier, Bengal had finished Day 1 strongly at 301 for 6 after winning the toss and opting to bat.
Ayush Kumar Singh laid the foundation with his 107 off 148 balls, while Anas contributed 68 off 124 balls. The duo played key roles in stabilising the innings.
Badal Biswal was the pick of the Odisha bowlers on the opening day as well, taking 3 for 85 in 28 overs. Saideep Mohapatra claimed 2 wickets for 44 runs in his 18 overs.
With Bengal converting their overnight score into 343 and Odisha responding steadily, the match is evenly poised heading into Day 3.
