The fuel prices saw a slight increase in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The cost of petrol increased by 17 paise while diesel prices moved up by 16 paise in the last 24 hours. The petrol price was recorded at Rs 102.04 per litre. The diesel rate was recorded at Rs 96.61 per litre. On Tuesday, the petrol price was at Rs 101.87 and the diesel rate was Rs 96.45.
The petrol price in Cuttack was recorded at Rs 102.39 and the diesel price in the city was at Rs 96.95 on Wednesday.
Petrol and diesel prices are revised in India on a daily basis. The fuel prices are revised at 6 am everyday. It includes value added tax (VAT), and dealer commission.
While the VAT varies from state to state, there are many other factors that impact fuel prices. Price of crude oil, INR to USD exchange rate and demand for fuel are some of the key factors that affect petrol and diesel prices.
