BJEM School-1 wins intra school cricket tournament

Bhubaneswar: In the final match of the Intra School Cricket Tournament Bhubaneswar 2024, held in one-day format, BJEM School-1 beat Yellow Combine School by 70 runs at the Town Club Ground, here recently.

Yellow Combine School won the toss and elected to field, aiming to restrict BJEM School-1’s batting prowess. However, BJEM School-1 put up 132 for 6 on the scoreboard in their allotted 25 overs. Mrutyunjaya Tripathy led the batting charge with a composed knock of 31 runs from 33 deliveries, ably supported by Ayush Panda, who chipped in with a handy 28 runs off 24 balls. Pratiush and Uttam Nayak were the pick of the bowlers for Yellow Combine School, claiming 3 wickets for 41 runs and 2 wickets for 17 runs, respectively.

In response, chasing a target of 133 runs for victory, Yellow Combine School struggled to find momentum against a disciplined bowling attack from BJEM School-1. The batting lineup faltered under pressure, managing to score only 62 for 9 in their stipulated 25 overs. Animesh Pradhan and Suvam Parida were the top scorers for Yellow Combine School. Prajyot Samal and Ayush Raut starred with the ball for BJEM School-1, picking up 2 wickets each. Prajyot Samal of BJEM School-1 was the stand-out performer of the match.
