BJB College win men’s inter-college basketball tournament

Bhubaneswar: In the men’s inter-college basketball tournament organised by Utkal University on Saturday, BJB autonomous College beat UN Autonomous College in the final.

In the women’s tournament held on Utkal University campus few days ago, DR College, Nayapalli were crowned champions.

Vice-chancellor, Prof Sabita Acharya inaugurated the tournament, where eight colleges took part and ten in the trials.

She encouraged the student athletes to play the game with positive attitude and urged them to pursue the sport and make a career out of it.

Dr Avaya Kumar Nayak, registrar of Utkal University was the chief guest and inspired the players to maintain good health and stay fit.

Dr Kirti Ranjan Mallick, vice-president, PG Athletic Club organised the event on behalf of Director of Sports, Utkal University.

Dr Benudhar Das, coordinated the tournament with match officials DP Sahoo, Prahlad Panda, Chiranjib Karan, DB Routray, C.Jena, Dr. Prabir Mohanty and Sashikant Nayak were present as selectors.
