Bhubaneswar-Balangir Express extended up to Sonepur

Sonepur: Responding to the aspirations of the local populace and the commissioning of the train line up to Sonepur from the Balangir side, the Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Bhubaneswar Express has been extended up to Sonepur.

On its inaugural journey, Sangita Kumari Singhdeo, member of parliament, flagged off the extended train service from Sonepur Railway Station on Tuesday.

The extended service, designated as the 12893 Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Sonepur Super Fast Express, will depart Balangir at 13:45hrs, arriving at Sonepur at 15:15hrs. In the return direction, the 12894 Sonepur-Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express will depart Sonepur at 13:00hrs, reaching Balangir at 14:25hrs, and finally arriving at Bhubaneswar at 21:45hrs. Regular operations will commence from Sonepur on March 14, 2024, and from Bhubaneswar on March 15, 2024.

The train’s schedule and stoppages between Bhubaneswar and Balangir will remain unchanged. However, between Balangir and Sonepur, additional stoppages will include Bichhupali, Jhartarbha, and Narsingh Garh railway stations, facilitating enhanced connectivity and convenience for passengers along this route.

Extension of Balangir-Bichhupali Passenger up to Sonepur starting March 15, 2024:

The Balangir-Bichhupali-Balangir Passenger service, numbered 08305/08306, has been extended to Sonepur. Departing from Balangir at 08:15 AM, the train will arrive at Sonepur at 09:45 AM. On its return journey, it will depart from Sonepur at 10:45 AM and reach Balangir at 12:00 PM.

Similarly, the Balangir-Bichhupali-Balangir Passenger service, numbered 08307/08308, has also been extended to Sonepur. Departing from Balangir at 12:50 PM, it will arrive at Sonepur at 02:20 PM. On its return journey, it will depart from Sonepur at 05:00 PM and reach Balangir at 06:15 PM.

Introduction of New Train between Balangir and Sonepur starting March 15, 2024:

A new train service, numbered 08309/08310, will operate between Balangir and Sonepur. Departing from Balangir at 07:15 PM, it will arrive at Sonepur at 08:45 PM starting March 15, 2024. On the return journey, it will depart from Sonepur at 04:15 AM and reach Balangir at 05:30 AM starting March 16, 2024.
